Our community projects continue to develop and flourish here at Ranikhet. With SATS over for our oldest pupils, we have been able to use our contacts to provide some exciting opportunities for them - watch this space for more details!

Dee Caf have always been very supportive of our school and we are in the process of developing an art project which will see our pupils’ work ‘up in lights’ in the café. So, if you pop in over the next month, you may just see our children working hard to create a vibrant space for all customers!

Y5 have been able to enjoy cricket sessions during their PE lessons provided by Berkshire Cricket. This joint venture came about from our long-standing partnership with Reading School and I anticipate this being the first of many opportunities for all our of pupils.

We have always worked closely with the police, and we have the dog division coming in very soon to work with our pupils about the role they play in the community and how specially trained dogs are used to keep everyone safe - pictures of this event to follow!

Reading FC continue to provide support in school in both PE and core learning subjects for our KS1 pupils. These sessions have been invaluable in developing the confidence of our younger children and follows on from the excellent sessions they provided to all of our girls last month for International Women’s Day.

We continue to work with Inside Out, our main charity partner, in helping them develop their resources. They are using our staff as a ‘testing ground’ to trial certain activities and lessons that will ultimately have a positive impact on lots of children’s mental health.

I am always on the look out for more local companies that we can partner with. Long term, I am creating a community resource map so that we can enter into partnerships to help our pupils. If there are any companies or local charities you think we should be working with, please do let me know and I will be happy to speak to them.

Best wishes,

Mr Thomas
