Parent Support

Parent Support: Accessibility Tools Video

Microsoft accessibility tools are designed to change the way files and websites are viewed to make it easier for people to read and understand them. This can support children learning to read, those who struggle with dyslexic traits and learners who can suffer with migraines from looking at a screen for too long.

The accessibility tools also allow users to dictate, translate and read aloud text.

Although the tools are designed to support learners with specific needs, such as dyslexia or learners new to the English language, they can be used by anyone who finds them helpful.

The tools discussed in the video displayed below include:

  • Changing your video background in Microsoft Teams
  • Real-time subtitles in Microsoft Teams.
  • Immersive Reader
  • Read Aloud
  • Dictation
  • Translate
  • Spell check/ Grammar editor

I hope you find this to be a helpful introductory guide and enjoy trying some of these out.
