During our last residential to Ufton Court, we tried various activities including building fires, riding bikes and buggies, creating masks, building shelters and archery. We also played lots of games, highlights being with the giant ball, hide and seek and cross the river. Despite (very) little sleep, a fantastic time was had by all.

A highlight for everyone was our trip to Thorpe Park which Year 6 decided on, and arranged, themselves. Thinking carefully about what rides they wanted to go on, their attention to detail and diligent planning paid off- there are some real thrill-seekers amongst the class (which, after accompanying groups on Nemesis and Hyperia, Mr Thomas and Mrs Davies were not quite so thrilled about!)

Back in school, we’ve been learning about Light in Science, World War 2 at Home and The Mayans in History, and Our Blue Planet and The Overheating World in Geography. We have also started to think about transitions in PHSE.

Sadly, we then had to say goodbye to Mr Thomas who moved onto pastures new, but who has instilled in Year 6 life-long knowledge and skills. At this point, Year 6 started their own transitions at their new Secondary Schools, meeting new friends and learning how to read a map to navigate themselves around their new surroundings.

It really has been such an adventurous and unforgettable last term at Ranikhet, making memories that will last a life-time. It has been a privilege to spend the last few weeks of their Primary School journey with Year 6, and all of us at Ranikhet wish them the best as they embark on the next part of their educational journey.
