Allotments

We have learnt that allotments are where you can grow fruit and vegetables. In Amethyst class on the 27th of April 2017 we tried salads that had food that you can grow in allotments. The fruit and vegetables were:

  • Spring Onions
  • Lettuce
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Potato
  • Green Beans

It was very delicious. If you would like you could have had salad cream or not.

Allotments

What we have learnt in class.

Allotments are kind of like gardens, but with more space. An allotment is a growing farm without a barn. You can grow different vegetables and plants. Allotment are a greenhouse but not always with the glass. Most people have to wait 6 months to 2 years to get their own allotment space and start growing. The council has a waiting list anyone would like an allotment space to grow fruit and vegetable. The allotment spaces are all in the same area just marked off for each person. There is allotment space is in Reading Tilehurst if you would like to know.
